CrossWalk – 2016 Beginnings

January 1, 2016

Begin your new year with CrossWalk to help raise funds to support victims of violent crimes in Marion County.  After her attack on January 1, 2011, while walking Salem’s Riverfront Park, Mary Lucas decided she needed to take back the park and help other victims of violent crime.  From that effort CrossWalk has been established as an annual New Year’s Day event for Mary and friends.  The proceeds from this walk help to support victims of violent crimes in Marion County through the Marion County Victim Assistance Program.

The Marion County District Attorney established the Victim Assistance Division in 1981. Over the years, the program has grown in its mission and contributions to the community. They work closely with more than fifty volunteers in providing services to victims of violent crimes in Marion County.

In Salem join organizer Mary Lucas, Friday, January 1, 2016 @ 10 AM, Salem’s Riverfront Park, 101 Front Street NE, Salem.  Hot chocolate, coffee and other goodies will be available.

In Detroit join supporters Kevin and Judy Cameron for a walk around town as they honor Mary’s faith and courage.  Friday, January 1, 2016 @ 10 AM.  For location contact Raquel at raquel@kevincameronfororegon.com or 503.269.0915.
