Kevin Cameron Nominated for Re-Election by Marion County Independent Party Voters

June 13, 2018

Marion County Commissioner Kevin Cameron has formally accepted the Independent Party of Oregon nomination for re-election to Position 1.

Independent Party voters in Marion County nominated Commissioner Cameron as their candidate via write-in votes during the 2018 Primary Election. In Oregon, the write-in process gives voice to political parties that do not field candidates by allowing them to write-in the name of the candidate they want to be elected. Commissioner Cameron was also nominated by Republican voters.

Commissioner Cameron says he’s pleased to represent both Republican and Independent parties in the general election but will continue to focus on representing all citizens in the county.

“This vote is a recognition that over the last four years as your Commissioner I have worked hard to serve all the citizens of Marion County, and I will continue to do so. It is humbling to know that people pay attention to the work their county government performs and have placed their confidence in me as the Independent candidate,” Cameron said.
