Book drive under way
Reading for All’s 12-day holiday book drive is under way in 92 locations in 12 cities across Marion County, with the goal of collecting 12,000 books. As of Monday, reading4all. com reported 1,465 books had been collected. The book drive will run through Dec. 12 and end with an all-day drive-through book collection at Salem Conference Center. Organizers request new or gently used books for infants to age 12. Books in English, Spanish and Russian are highly requested. Drop-off locations include U.S. Bank branches, Boys & Girls Club branches, Maps Credit Union branches, Roth’s Fresh Market locations, schools and the Statesman Journal.
